It is recommended to preheat the new grates before first use to remove any processing residue. You should oil the grates before or after each use for best cooking results. Use a high-heat cooking oil, such as Canola, olive, or peanut oil, and wipe the grates with a paper towel using an oven mitt and tongs.
These grates are heavy-duty and more durable than others. They are made of matte enamel cast iron, which is reversible and creates two different grill marks on your food. The cast-iron grates are covered with enamel to prevent rusting, and using non-metallic grill tools will also add life to the grate.
